Bellstreet formed in 2010 out of the synergies of their directors. Alistair King's background in Software Development and research brought with him a conviction that simple, elegant solutions can make huge tasks small. Seth Lester's background in Business Analysis and Business Solutions Development brought with a firm belief that companies had access to amazing amounts of useful data, if only it could be freed from restrictive formats. Sarah Anderson, with her background in Project Management, knew that he biggest bottleneck in large, complex projects in was often systems and not staff related.
Bellstreet faces the market with simple solutions, not big ones. Solutions with small learning curves and big productivity gains. We want to help free up your time, your data and your staff to grow your business.
Alistair studied at The University of Waikato from 2004 through 2009, gaining both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science. Alistair has specialised in computer network research and development, with emphasis on large-scale network measurement. While studying, he collaborated with the Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis, based at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, developing new algorithms for Archipelago, their global Internet measurement platform.
Since graduating, he has worked with Harmonic Ltd in Wellington, New Zealand. At Harmonic, Alistair carried out research and development activities on software and methodologies for traffic measurement and visualisation of a major New Zealand carrier network. This work included the prototype design and implementation of a modern user interface for carrier network monitoring and planning. As a part of this development, Alistair designed, developed and integrated several unique and powerful frameworks to allow users to easily extract vital information from their network data, whether in the form of reports, contextual dynamic graphs or custom multi-dimensional tabular drill-downs.
Along with his work in the telecommunications space while at Harmonic, Alistair also was heavily involved in a tactical solution for the NZ electricity grid operator. Alistair was instrumental in the business requirements analysis and implementation design of the business reporting features of the solution. He was also responsible for producing user documentation for the entire solution in addition to contributing to the as-built design documentation.
