BBO had a tool, written in VB for Excel that needed an overhaul. It processed documentation for vehicles. The workflow on the tool caused a time and recources bottleneck, it just took too long to make the tool do what it needed to do.

...and this is how we fixed it...

We looked at the tool: it needed a UI overhaul, it needed to be able to group tasks and implement them without user input on each step of the task, it needed to manage the data required to complete the tasks, and it needed to be able to complete the task, that is to actually generate the reports reqired. (This was being handled by another manual process). We made them a small Java app with an integrated Data Wharehouse. One of their engineers tried it, and sent this back:

If I was doing it normally without your tool it would have taken me 50 hours to complete...
With your tool it took me an hour... 1 hour... 60 minutes.. Wahoo!!!
